Red Hat seen as the leading open source vendor
Primary research conducted by Kingpin Intelligence has revealed that most UK developers see Red Hat as the vendor most committed to the open source community.
|
|
The research, which went out to 400 respondents (200 who use open source and 200 who don’t), indicated that Red Hat is the brand most associated with open source, even among developers who don’t use open source.
Java house Sun Microsystems and Linux-friendly IBM are also considered highly esteemed by UK open source developers. While Linux Ubuntu doesn’t feature on the radar of non-open source developers, it is gaining recognition among open source users.
Kingpin Intelligence’s Developers and Open Source report will be available from 1 April 2008. For sales and further information please contact James Taylor.
