AUGUST 2009 charityquiz

Last year we raised £8,800. This year’s target is £15,000!

Kingpin’s Charity Quiz Night was yet again a roaring success raising almost £12,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital!

We’d like to thank all of you that supported the evening, whether it was as a company or an individual. A big thanks to Tiger Tiger for providing such an excellent venue as well as all the quiz teams and sponsors that made the night what it was.

A big thank you to all those that turned up including The Register, TechTarget, Kingpin PAFs, Dennis Publishing, Incisive Media, IDG UK, B2B Marketing, Capital Support, CBS Interactive, emedia, Microsoft, Periscopix, Arkadin, DWA, GOSH, Bright Giant, Mr A.Gill and the Kingpin Team.

In addition...

To the last men standing at the casino, rivalling it out into the early hours. So congratulations to Roy Moffatt from Capital Support who walked away with exclusive use of a Mercedes SLK for a weekend and commiserations to Issam Jelti from the Register who put up a good fight!

This year again saw the auction be a huge success, raising just under £2,800 with some impressive competition and audacious out-bidding for great auction prizes.

Once again, a huge thanks to everyone for their support and generosity. We look forward to raising even more money for Great Ormond Street Hospital with you all next year!

You can still help us raise £15,000 for the children’s hospital by making a donation on our JustGiving page.

Kingpin Sponsors Great Ormond Street Hospital and raises £8,800

Kingpin’s charity quiz night in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital on 20th August was a roaring success thanks to the input of team Kingpin. We’re proud to have raised an impressive £8,800 for the children’s charity each penny of which can be attributed to the hard work of everyone involved. From knocking on the doors of local businesses to organising auction items, selling raffle tickets and coercing clients into spending big and drinking plenty we all played an essential role in raising money for this great charity. Of course having the best quiz master/auctioneer in-house guaranteed smooth running and high bidding, so big thanks as well to James Taylor for holding the night together!

Feedback from those who attended has been great and we’re planning to turn the event into an annual occasion. People will be begging for tickets next year! Thanks again to everyone who took part.

Kingpin in “not the worst football team” shocker

It may have been cold, it may have been wet, it may have been in deepest darkest Bermondsey, but Kingpin managed to achieve something it's never before achieved in a football tournament. It didn’t come last.

That award was given to the hosts – Computer Weekly. Unlike England, our nerves held strong during the shoot out scoring all of our allotted penalties. With scenes reminiscent to Trafalgar Square during victory in Europe day, the WireWorks held a full ticker tape parade for the returning heroes. We look forward to not being invited next year!
